1972 The
beginning: a little blonde afghan puppy.
A self-masked crème afghan puppy by the name
Tazi-Pa-Chenga
Grandezza joins the Arlander family. Maija starts showing Grandezza
in the puppy classes and Bodil hones her handling skills in “child
& dog” competitions.

1974
She’s a Champion!
Grandezza becomes a Finnish champion. She later adds the Swedish
title as well.
1976
First litter at Kennel Choice.
Kennel Choice has its first litter when Grandezza is bred
to American import Ch. Dynasty’s Thunder’n Lightenin. A male
puppy, Choice Gunpowder, stays home and goes on to become
a Nordic champion. Bodil graduates to “junior handling” competitions
with Gunpowder.

| Wild West
at 6 weeks |
|
1978 A
star is born. Grandezza
is bred to Int. Ch. El Khyrias Diablo and the resulting
litter epitomizes what later becomes known as the “Choice
look”. One of the puppies stays home - Choice Wild West
is here to stay!
1979 Wild
West wins his first BIS.
Wild West is officially shown for the first time; he
wins Best In Show at the age of 12 months old.

1980
New blood and successes.
El Khyrias Do Believe It is imported from Sweden and becomes
the kennel’s second foundation bitch. Wild West and Bodil
are cleaning up at the shows; he becomes a Nordic champion
and helps Bodil win the Finnish Championship in junior handling.
