1981 Joy
and sorrow. Kennel Choice gets
its first International champion as Wild West finishes at the young
age of 3 years and 10 months. Wild Wests many wins earn him the Afghan
of the Year, Sighthound of the Year and Most Successful Show
Dog (all breeds) titles. He also gets his first Finnish Winner title
at the Helsinki Winner Show. Tragedy strikes as Gunpowder dies prematurely
following an accident.

Puppies galore and more new blood.
Kennel Choice has three litters, two of which generate some
of the kennels most successful show dogs. Wild Wests sister
Choice West-Wind Song has one puppy with Ch. El Khyrias Touch
Me. Choice Star Chaser and three more future champions are born
in the litter by Ch. Dynastys Thundern Lightening and Ch.
Choice West Whirlwind. Wild West and Do Believe It produce their
first litter, including future stars Choice Be A Pepper and
Choice Boy What A Girl. Bodil spends most of the year in the
United States and as a result, Wild West is barely shown. In
the fall, Pacific Pride of Stormhill joins the Arlander household
from California.

1983 Back
with a vengeance. With Bodil back
in the country, there is no stopping Wild West. He goes from
win to win (11 Best of Breeds out of 12 attempts), dominating
the Afghan of the Year and Sighthound of the Year competitions.
Wild West finishes second in the Most Successful Show Dog
(all breeds) competition and adds both the Finnish Winner and
Nordic Winner titles to his record. Later in the year, the Wild
West/Do Believe It combination is repeated, resulting in a litter
including Choice Cosmic Copper and Choice Chabot Napoleon, both
of whom go on to become star performers.
