Which is in your opinion your most famous Afghan?

I think it would have to be Int. & Nord. Ch. Choice Wild West. His winning record, as an adult and a veteran, is well known to many people in many countries and so many of your British judges have said such lovely things about him. He is a special dog and a wonderful showman, with a natural "presence" even when he is just relaxing at home.

Now which is your favourite and why?

I don't have a real favourite, I don't think you can if you are a true dog lover. I can't put one before another. I love all my dogs, they are all Afghans and I am happy to have them. I do hope that they are just as happy to have me!

In your showing career, which was your most exciting win?

I think it was the 1984 Skokloster Special in Sweden, a very famous Sighthound show. Wild West took Best of Breed under Keith Thornton from England, and went on to Best in Show under Renee Mattheuwsen, the Dutch sighthound authority. There were 655 hounds there that day. The very same year he became Dog of the Year in All Breeds in Finland. Wes was Afghan of the Year 1981-83-84-85-86-87, and Sighthound of the Year 1981-83-84-85-86. He was the Finnish Winner 198183-85-86 and Nordic Winner 1983-84.

Do you think there are any faults in the present day Afghans that need watching?

Toplines like German Shepherds, straight shoulders (often with overangulated rears), unrefined heads with big round eyes, short necks and straight tails!!
